Great to find out about these initiatives. I'm still on the lookout for something comparable in the UK. The charity I work for had a knit a baby hat project - instead of the targetted 50,000 they got 600,000 - more than they were able to distribute. The generosity and vigour of knitters was astounding, we had so many offers of people wanting to do more because they love knitting and love helping. What charities often really need is cash and people campaigning/lobbying. I'm keen to find ways of how to use the creative generosity of people - locally or internationally.
