I Say It All The Time, But I’ll Say It Again…

I get awesome emails from you people! Emails that make me ooh, ahh, cheer, cry, act, just plain happy along with many more reactions.

One such email I got from Huck and Stuff not too long ago about some self-proclaimed “awesomely crocheted monster masks.” And… what do you know… They not only are crocheted, but they are also monsters and awesome!

Want proof? Check out the pics below, from the Monster Dinner Party and White Stag Pup (created for Mass MoCA), respectively.

I thought these monstery masks were perfect inspiration right before Halloween, and was well chuffed to see that they will make a mask for you to your own specs, too!

But my favorite pic from the website? A little lonely monster down by the lake, taking in the autumn loveliness in the most fashionable of outfits:

Thank you Huck and Stuff for sharing your masks and talents with me, and for making me remember the loveliness of monsters created to evoke feelings, opinions and just plain fun! Part of craftivism is pushing yourself to incorporate the world around you (and your feelings about it) into your work, allowing yourself to further immerse yourself into what’s really going on, on the surface and underneath it. In celebrating the world of monsters, where you can create freely and without constraint, we can further our own work, which is always a good thing!
